Hunt for new CBI chief gathers speed after Alok Verma`s exit, top IPS officers in the race

The process to decide the name of the new CBI Director was speeded up on Thursday after Alok Verma was unceremoniously removed by a Prime Minister-led committee, capping a saga of his battle with his deputy Asthana that led to a bitter end to his long career.
